Arkansas Department of
Environmental Quality
ADEQ protects the air, water and land from the
threat of pollution. We strive for environmental quality through
programs of regulation, education and assistance.
 |
Regulatory Programs
ADEQ’s
regulatory programs set pollution limits, determine compliance, and enforce environmental laws and regulations.
Our regulatory divisions include Air, Water, Solid Waste, Hazardous Waste, Regulated Storage Tanks and Mining.
Additionally, ADEQ oversees training and standards for various licensed professionals.
|
 |
Education and Assistance
ADEQ offers citizens the
tools and
resources to protect natural resources.
We show businesses and communities alternatives to waste disposal and how to prevent pollution,
and involve students in environmental projects. We raise understanding of environmental
requirements and responsibilities by conducting workshops for teachers and businesses,
and helping citizens understand permitting issues.
|
 |
Partnerships
ADEQ’s authority is bound and limited by federal and state laws and regulations.
We maintain partnerships with other agencies and stakeholders, sharing knowledge and expertise to solve problems.
We depend on, and respond to, citizens’ concerns, since you are often the first to witness environmental problems. |
 |
ADEQ will be receiving American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act monies for a number of stimulus
projects. Learn about
how and where
these dollars will be spent. A listing of
stimulus projects throughout Arkansas can be
found at the
Arkansas Recovery Office website.
