Earth Day at ADEQ

Every day is Earth Day at ADEQ, but we make a special effort to help area fourth graders celebrate each year on or near April 22, when Earth Day is observed around the world. We offer three mornings of fun activities, allowing up to 300 students to tour our environmentally friendly building and visit learning stations where employees lead sessions on air and water quality issues, alternatives to disposal, detective work in our lab, and more.

Public Outreach

We are the public's connection to ADEQ. We produce posters, graphics, and brochures that illuminate the department's mission, and we coordinate many of its public events. We provide knowledgeable speakers for civic clubs, workshops, and classrooms across the state. Public outreach staff fields questions from the public and helps new visitors get familiar with our website or with our award-winning green building.

Contact us for copies of materials for your classroom, for electronic copies of maps and graphics you see on our website, or for presenters who will help Arkansans become better stewards of the environment.

Earth Day season is a busy time, and we attempt to staff as many events as possible. We host Earth Day at ADEQ each year when fourth graders are scheduled to visit our headquarters and learn how we protect the environment. Other students are welcome during the school year by reservation.
