The current general permits for Transfer Stations (TS) and Yard Waste Composting (CY) sites are up for renewal. Coverage under these "old" permits has been extended until "new" permits go into effect. The draft general permits will soon be placed into the public comment period and information will be mailed to existing permit holders and other stakeholders. After the new permits are finalized, instructions and updated forms will be mailed along with information on how to obtain coverage under the new permits. No additional fees will be required for existing sites. Existing sites are required to continue paying annual operating fees in accordance with Regulation 9. ADEQ fiscal will continue billing the annual fee according to the normal annual billing cycle as it has done in the past. Due to the significant changes that will be included in the new versions of these permits, new facilities seeking initial coverage will not be eligible for coverage under the old permits. In the interim period, new facilities will be required to apply for an individual Type TS or CY permit or wait until the new general permits go into effect.
