ADEQ uses Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology to create, manipulate,
and analyze spatial data to help the agency achieve its mission of preserving the
quality of the environment in Arkansas.
ADEQ has participated with other state and federal agencies in the creation of
a library of environmental resource mapping layers. These include permitted sites,
facility data, protected openspace lands, wetlands, watersheds, and many others.
Using GIS, these layers have been combined with additional map layers, such as roads,
political boundaries, and aerial photography, to create numerous maps and applications
for ADEQ staff, planners, consultants, and the general public.
The ADEQ GIS Section has created
EnviroView a web-based application to utilize this valuable data. A user can
use this application to create a customized map, and then print out the result or
incorporate it into your documents or other websites. This application requires
that the
flash player plug-in be installed in your browser.
Another web-based application created by the ADEQ GIS Section, and Computer Services
Division, is MethViewer.
A user can use this application to view the latest properties believed to be contaminated
by the illegal manufacture of drugs. This application requires that the
flash player plug-in be installed in your browser. For a complete list of such
properties, see Methamphetamine
Contaminated Properties.
NOTE: The map viewers utilize pop-ups. If you have a pop-up blocker, you
will need either to disable it or set it to allow Map Viewer pop-ups. Most browsers
that utilize pop-up blockers will help you do this when the Map Viewer pop-ups are
encountered.
There is an issue with the browser Internet Explorer which sometimes causes the
map viewer to not display. If this occurs please try using FireFox as an alternate
browser.
