Five-Year Monitoring Network Assessment
On October 13, 2015, the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality submitted to EPA the Five-Year Monitoring Network Assessment. The purpose of the assessment is to determine if the current network of ambient monitors continue to meet Arkansas’s needs and federal requirements. The Department’s assessment conclusion was that our network, as proposed in accordance with our 2015 annual monitoring network review, complies with the applicable EPA monitoring requirements. ADEQ remains focused on maintaining compliance of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) and will continue to collect meaningful and representative data collection needed for implementation of the NAAQS. The data generated from the monitoring network is used for a broad range of regulatory and research purposes, as well as to inform the public of the status of air quality within the state.
