Investigation Comment:
Inspection conducted on 8/10/06. I met with Warren Taff, Environmental Engineer, and discussed the complaint. The inspection revealed that the area at Outfall 001 was free of excessive trash; photos were taken to confirm these findings. I took a sample at the Outfall and it revealed that the pH was 7.11 s.u. at 32 degrees C. Mr. Taff confirmed that all processed wastewater discharges to the Fort Smith public sewer.

Description Comment:
Complainant alleges that the facility is polluting the water at the Outfall by allowing an excessive build-up of trash and other debris in this location. Complainant also alleges that processed wastewater is discharged at the Outfall and the pH of discharge is above 9.0 su.
