Investigation Comment:
No specific fields were provided in the complaint so I inspected the above referenced fields to determine whether land application of wastewater from C&H Hog Farm had taken place. No application of wastewater from C&H Hog Farm was apparent. I also did not detect any odor associated with land application of hog waste or poultry litter. Owners of C&H Hog Farm also indicated they currently are not land applying any wastewater to the fields identified under this permit. No further action required at this time.

Description Comment:
People have been asking me if EC Farms is spreading waste on the Left Fork of Big Creek. They say they can smell it from Highway 7 and have not noticed it in years past. The smell is in the early hours of the day. I am also told C&H is spreading early in the morning while the fog is still in the valley. This is causing health problems to those who live there. I assumed the permit is on hold until after the Dec 5-6 appeals hearing. Can you verify that this is or not happening?
Location Comment:
Proposed application fields CB1-CB3, MM1-MM3, RC3, and RM1-RM2 were reviewed. These fields are located adjacent to the Left Fork of Big Creek on McElroy Gap Rd. and HWY 374.
