ADEQ’s TECHe and Envy Awards

This year marks the 12th anniversary for the Arkansas Environmental Stewardship Award, dubbed the “ENVY Award,” and the second year for the Arkansas Environmental Technology Award, known as the “TECHe Award.”

The ENVY Award was established in 2005 to honor a major contribution by an individual or organization involving environmental stewardship activities in Arkansas. The TECHe Award honors new advances in technology or the innovative use of technology to protect and enhance the state’s environment.

Call for Applications

The Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality is accepting applications through February 24, 2017, for two environmental awards – the Environmental Stewardship (ENVY) Award, and the Arkansas Environmental Technology (TECHe) Award.

The ENVY Award recognizes individuals or groups whose projects or programs protect and enhance the environment in extraordinary ways. The TECHe Award recognizes the use of new developments in technology or the innovative use of technology to protect our resources and improve the environment.

Businesses, nonprofits and government entities are encouraged to apply for both awards. This year, to further promote STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education, ADEQ will also accept TECHe applications from students in grades 9 – 12, who will be considered for special recognition for computer or technology-based applications for environmental projects.
