Meeting Scheduled to Discuss BFI Landfill

NORTH LITTLE ROCK - The Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, to discuss the Assessment of Corrective Measures (ACM) for remedying impacts to groundwater at the BFI Landfill located in Pulaski County. The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Arkansas Pollution Control and Ecology Commission (APC&EC) Commission Room, 5301 Northshore Drive, North Little Rock, AR.

The meeting is being held to provide citizens the opportunity to informally discuss the ACM with staff members of ADEQ and BFI. Since the meeting is not a formal hearing, no prepared statements are necessary, and no formal comments are recorded during the process.
Based on the results of the ACM and public meeting discussions, the operator of the facility will select a remedy, which must meet the provisions established in APC&EC Regulation No. 22.
For additional information regarding the ACM, contact Charles Johnson at 501.682.0832 or Blake Whittle at 501.682.0843.
