2014 8/12/2015 $1,925.92 The District is continuing to host collection events in each county at a minimum of one per year. The purchase of additional trailers has allowed a collection trailer to be permanently placed in each of the six counties, with some having two collection locations. An order has been placed for additional trailers that will allow each county to have multiple collection locations. Delivery is expected in August. We are updating our website with locations, addresses and phone numbers of collection locations. We also have two additional cities that have started curbside collection, City of Marion has been going since mid-April and doing well while the City of Harrisburg is still in the start-up phase. Proceeds were used for public notices, ARC confeence and a portion of Salary/benefits attributed to recycling from environmental services and other staff.
2013 8/27/2014 $23,574.08 EARSWMD collected a total of 3632.2 tons. District staff worked with counties and municipalities to set up recycling programs and schedule recycling events. The District purchased 4 recycling trailers for drop-off recycling locations for West Memphis, Crittenden County and Forrest City. The District also worked with Goodwill Industries and Waste Services, Inc., on e-waste collection and recycling events throughout the six counties of the District. Moving forward, the District plans on placing a recycling trailer to serve as a drop-off location for recycling services in each county, expand current recycling programs and continue to host recycling events.
2012 9/6/2013 $0.00 District collected and recycled 196.24 tons during this time period, which included collection at e-waste events/pickups, office recycling program, and community events. Staff worded to clean up/disburse past grants, and is in the process of establishing recycling programs in all six counties. The district has also worked to rebrand the recycling program/materials and is developing an education program for school districts to use in the six counties. Staff established new accounting system to track and administer grants. No expenditures this period as funds were used from grants EAR00-10, EAR00-11.
