Programs

The Programs Branch manages the collection of fees and distribution of grant funds and oversees three programs that help individuals, businesses, and municipalities protect environmental quality:

Tire Accountability Program

The collection and disposal of waste tires is managed by regional tire districts. The Programs Branch administers funding to the districts.

Solid Waste Facility Operator Licensing

The branch manages licensure programs for solid waste management facility operators and Environmental Officers.

Mercury Switch Removal Program

Recyclers and salvage operators are required to remove mercury switches from vehicles before they are flattened for salvage. The branch assists with administration and promotion of this recycling effort.
