Enterprise Services


DEQ's Enterprise Services staff helps Arkansas businesses comply with existing environmental regulations and reduce or eliminate the emissions and wastes generated.

This program also administers the Recycling Equipment Tax Credit Program for businesses that buy equipment to provide recycling services for themselves and other entities. In addition , it provides DEQ’s liaison to the Compliance Advisory Panel/ Marketing Recyclables Program, an independent entity that helps businesses with their sustainability needs and assists small businesses with concerns and difficulties with permits.

  • Pollution prevention (P2) and best management practice (BMP) assistance
  • Acting as a liaison between permit applicants and DEQ's regulatory divisions
  • Arkansas Recycling Markets Directory, which provides contacts for businesses that will accept recyclable materials
  • Promotion of RENEW, a resource exchange network for eliminating waste
  • Educational opportunities, such as workshops, training, and informational materials
  • Industry-specific assistance

Occupational Licensing Provision for Uniformed Service Members, Veterans, and Spouses

The Arkansas Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is dedicated to supporting service members, veterans, and spouses pursuing expedited or automatic licensing in Arkansas, providing a streamlined process and reducing potential barriers.

Act 135 of 2021, also known as the Arkansas Occupational Licensing of Uniformed Service Members, Veterans, and Spouses Act, establishes specific requirements for expedited or automatic licensing for uniformed service members, veterans, and their spouses. For more information, please click here.

Workforce Expansion Act of 2021- Waiver of the Initial Licensure/Certification Fee for Qualifying Applicants

Fees should not put a barrier on obtaining occupational licensing in Arkansas. Act 725 of 2021, also known as the Workforce Expansion Act of 2021, allows DEQ to waive the initial fee for qualifying individuals seeking an occupational license. Please click here to see if you qualify.
