Scrapbook of Arkansas Recycling

Arkansas reached its first legislated recycling goal (for the year 2000) two years early. To commemorate this accomplishment and the recycling programs that contributed to it, the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality produced a scrapbook of information about and photos of recycling facilities in the state. This scrapbook consists of printed pages in plastic sleeves gathered in a three-ring binder. While the final pages were produced on a computer, programs submitted hard copy text and photos.

For America Recycles Day 2016, department staff recreated the scrapbook for the digital age by producing an electronic Scrapbook of Arkansas Recycling. Like the original scrapbook, this one includes photos and information submitted by recycling programs throughout Arkansas. Unlike the original scrapbook, information was collected through an electronic form and anyone with access to the Internet can view the scrapbook pages.

In addition, this scrapbook is dynamic, meant to be updated and added to. The department hopes that many other recycling facilities will complete the scrapbook form and join those found in the electronic scrapbook on its initial release – November 15, 2016.

Any public or private entity that runs a drop-off site or curbside program to collect materials for recycling is welcome to participate by completing the form below. If you operate more than one collection site or curbside program, you may complete a form for each. The information provided will be used to create your page(s) for the scrapbook. DEQ reserves the right to combine entries from the same entity if deemed appropriate and to withhold posting duplicate or inappropriate entries.

Data entered into the form will not be saved until you click the Submit button. Please do not submit more than one form for a specific drop-off site/curbside program. Review form fields and make sure you have all information on hand before you begin completing it.
