Solid Waste Licensing Committee

The Arkansas Solid Waste Licensing Committee is an advisory committee to the Arkansas Pollution Control and Ecology Commission (APC&EC) and DEQ.

The committee has the power and duty to:

• Conduct inquiries and establish findings necessary to advise the commission and DEQ on irregularities encountered in the management of the licensing program
• Conduct inquiries and establish facts necessary to advise the commission and DEQ on the actions of licensees
• Recommend administrative sanctions, including but not limited to the suspension and revocation of licenses, as necessary to promote the professional integrity of solid waste licenses

Eight committee members are appointed by the commission and represent various government or industry groups. The 9th member, employed by DEQ, is appointed by the director.
